Beholding His Beauty

The book of Psalms chapter 27 vs 4 states:

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

A burning desire for God experientially is what a man that will cause relevance must carry jus like David had. A strong desire to see the Glory of God. “One thing” indicates an intense, strong, singular desire to behold the beauty of God. To behold is to gaze till it burns in your heart. It is to stare at the awesome wonder of Jesus Christ.

A constant seeking of beauty is what brings an encounter. Being a prayer warrior does not make you a man of the Spirit. You might be praying but the desire to cause an encounter is not there. You can fake miracles but you can’t fake the manifest presence.

We are in a generation where the passion for God has been replaced. The battle of the end-time is a battle of Passion. For you to pray you must have a genuine desire for a personal knowledge of God.

“To dwell in the temple” David was not speaking of a physical temple because at the time of the statement the temple had not been built. So David was seeking a heart experience with God. If we have indeed tasted with the tongue of our soul that the Lord is good, this same attitude is what we must have.

Everyone has a passion, and if it is not God, it is an idol. This is why we pray for God to bring our idols down.

If all you have made for God is a decision for Christ in Salvation, if you don’t have a desire, a longing to behold His beauty then you are not save because you are not saved by a mere decision. It is the Holy Spirit who causes you to be born anew, putting in you a new Spirit with new desires. It is called Family Affections and it is the work of the Spirit of God.

This is necessary for what God wants to do for and through you. To fulfill assignment, this desire is needed. No fulfillment in self-seeking. You are configured to be fulfilled in Him, that is our configuration !

To feel hungry is a sign of healthiness. To be hungry for God is a sign of spiritual health. The feeling of the emptiness and dryness is not the absence of  God but a sign of His presence.

God is most glorified in us when are most satusfied in Him. Jesus said He is the true bread. Bread symbolise strength, power and pleasure. This is what the world seeks but Jesus says that which you seek I am.

When God shows you His glory, you will see your flithiness but you will rejoice in what Christ has done for you. The way to enjoy Him is to magnify Him by meditating on what His glory is for, what His majesty is for? Questioning why and to who is His Characters are for? Will leave you lost in the beauty of God.

Every thing God does is for Himself.

Ephesians 2: 3-4 (Amplified version).

But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,

Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation).

So the reason He died is Himself. The reason He saved us is to satisfy His love which great, wonderful and intense in nature. He did not died because of anything in you because you were died nothing in you to be desired. He died to satisfy His Love, to satisfy Himself because Himself is for you. The carnal man would say nobody should serve Him, He is a greedy God.

He died to satisfy Himself and Himself is for you. This is not selfishness because the ultimate reason is for you to enjoy Him by seeing, beholding Him, gazing at His beauty.

16:May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].

17:May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

18:That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

19:[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

The Love is so great that you need strength to comprehend this love. It takes power to understand but when you do, you care less about who and who does not love you. It is the desire to constantly stare that we must have, it is the only duty of man to behold the Glory of God.
