Forgiveness of Sins

Most people don’t know that the forgiveness of sins is complete. They see forgiveness as something God can do and continues to do and not as something that has already been done. It is this thinking pattern that gave birth to the idea of confessing all sins thereby rejecting what Christ has done.

The New Testament presents the forgiveness of sins as something already accomplished. This is to make us conscious of righteousness and not sin. This consciousness guides you.

Knowing that your body is the temple of God guides you and causes you to loose appetite for sin.

Read Hebrews 10:1-2

… :For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

In the Old Testament, they were continuously killing goats for the covering of sins but in the new testament, Jesus has paid a once and for all sacrifice.

Read Heb 9:22

… And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Each time you ask for the forgiveness of sins, you are requesting that the blood of jesus should be shed. You want Jesus to keep dieing for your sins? Christ has died for sins once, but people do not accept the implication of this.

You have once for all been cleansed, forgiven and will no longer have any guilt or consciousness of sin.

The sacrifice of Jesus over 2000 years ago avails forever. The killing of goats and all were not the the lamb of God, hence it only handled sin problem temporarily .

Read John 1:29

… The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world by the shedding of blood. This is redemption (the forgiveness of sins) . Redemption is by blood sacrifice.

Do you know that God was tired of their yearly sacrifices of goats and bulls? That’s why he came to end that order by himself but you want to annul the sacrifice of Jesus and daily confess your sins. Who has biwitched you “have” the forgiveness of sins?

People confessing their sins don’t really know what they are saying, you are asking for Jesus’ blood to be shed again and again as often as you confess. Which is impossible.

Read Col 1:14

…In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins

Read Rom 6:9-10

… Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

It is wrong to keep asking God for the forgiveness of sins when you are already born again. Jesus’ blood has already been shed and will not be shed again.

Read Heb 9:25-28

… Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;

26. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

27. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28. So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Jesus is not the high priest who enters the holy of holies over and over again. He entered once and for all time. He’s not dieing regularly, he died once to put away the sins of the world.

The misconception is a result of wrong interpretation of scriptures.

Read Heb 10:10-14

…By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12. But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13. From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

The offering of human priest are never able to take away sins but Christ single sacrifice avails for all time. It is an accomplished work.

Read Acts 16:31

… And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

We call people out to confess their sins but Paul said to the Philippine jailer; believe in the lord Jesus Christ. This is what saves.

Acts 26:18

… To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

We have to recieve forgiveness by faith.

Read 1 john 2:2

… And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

The whole world is forgiven but not the whole world is saved only those who have put faith in Christ.

Read Eph 2:8-9

… For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

It is not a person’s sin that takes him to hell, because he has been forgiven. It is the singular sin of not believing in Jesus Christ that puts such a one into eternal condemnation.

Read John 16:8-9

… And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9. Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Knowing that God is not and will never be angry with you give you security and assurance.

When People hear that God has forgiven them their sins past present and future they like to ague “How can God forgive my sins before I commit them”

Redemption is eternal. Christ died before you were born hence you and your sins were in the future.

Read Heb 9:12

… Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

The death of Christ shows God’s hatred for sin and display His love for the sinner.
