To better express the Life of God, in reigning in life and walking in power, we need to know our root in the son. It begins with knowing the Spirit you have received and yielding to Him.
John 3:5-8
[5]Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[6]That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[7]Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
[8]The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
The human nature with which we are born cannot access God; it cannot enter heaven until it is changed, unless in a new nature.
The “flesh” is symbolic of the human nature. Don’t be confused with the word “water and spirit”. Water here doesn’t mean water baptism, water is symbolic of the Spirit of salvation. water baptism was a shadow of the real substance; what Christ came to do.
The change of the human nature is what is called being born again and when this happens you have made you heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
A man born of the Spirit has a new Spirit. He is controlled by the spirit, he has a new Spirit nature. We need to allow the Spirit nature control us since we have the character of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25
[25]If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
To live by the spirit is to live by the Life we have received. To walk in the Spirit is to have be yielding to the Holy Spirit. If we are born of the Spirit we would subsequently live in the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:9-10
[9]Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[10]For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Workmanship will mean we are the result of His work. If we are products of the Spirit we should live by the spirit.
Galatians 3:3
[3]Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
It was by the free sovereign power of the Spirit that we are born anew. Walking in the Spirit helps us overcome whatever the flesh is bring to us.
Galatians 5:16
[16]This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Walking in the Spirit would mean what you do when you yield yourself to the influence of the Spirit. If you are committing sin, it is a desire. It is all about desire. It is the Holy Spirit that makes us walk in the Spirit by producing in us strong desires. To walk in power is first to walk in the Spirit.
He leads you by creating desires in you. If we can give in to the desires of the Spirit, we will be walking in power by the spirit of God in us.
Ezekiel 36:26-27
[26]A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
[27]And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
We are enabled to keep His status. Walking in the Spirit is what we do when the desires produced by the spirit is stronger than that produced by the flesh. It is not our duty, we are to respond to the desires.
How does the Holy Spirit help us follow-how does he lead? Does He do that by giving us a command? No, he leads by creating in us strong desires.
Ezekiel 36:26-27

The heart of flesh God gives to us is the heart influenced by the Holy Spllirit. When He enters your heart, He spreads the Love of God in you therefore obeying God becomes a pleasure. Love is shapens you. This is how the Holy Spirit puts to death these struggles of ours.
The works of the flesh is a desire, it takes stronger desire to break it. The only way to destroy an idol is to replace it. It is therefore important to know how to be conscious of the love of God that is the voice of the Spirit in our heart.
Romans 8:14-17
[14]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
[15]For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
[16]The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
[17]And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
The Spirit of adoption is the embodiment of of the energy of love between the father and the son. The Spirit of adoption is the love between the father and the son.
Abba is an emotional expression; it explains the childlike affection a child has for the father. Here it represents the childlike affection we (God’s children) have for our father (God).
To love God is not a demand but an enjoyment. Focusing on God’s love you are fulfilling the will of God. His Life is easily express through you. The Holy Spirit spreads the Love of God abroad in our hearts, His love for me is forever, it is continuous, He is in constant love with me even when we don’t know what to say the Spirit of adoption communicates it to the father. His love influences me, his love is my delight, my enjoyment.
The powers of eternity fought the expression of His love (God’s love) for me. that was why they dealth with Him on the cross but they could not stop Him from loving me, the pleasure of having Him in me and He in me killed the pain. This is intimacy. God’s love for me is my focus, my eyes is constantly fixed on this Love. Addictions break by getting addicted to Him.
